Morning Market

To avoid the heat, I decided to do an early morning grocery shopping. So I got up at 7am, by the time I arrived the Fyshwick Fresh Food Market , it was only 7:40am.

Spent half an hour in the market, no queues, no crowds, plenty of choices of food, and the most importantly, it was cool. The morning breeze felt still a bit of cold and nice from last night. I wish it can go like this the whole day.

Got to Aldi at about 8:10am. Unfortunately Aldi opens at 8:30am on Saturday morning. So I walked to the next door Woolies to kill some time. Bought pork mince thinking to make dumplings tonight. Quickly finished shopping at Aldi afterwards and went home. When I walked in, the room was still dark, all the curtains were still closed, hubby was still in sleep. It was 9am, have enough time making breakfast, doing washing, mopping the kitchen floor, vacuuming and doing a bit of ironing…..

What a wise arrangement! I said to myself. Now I have all day to spare and my weekly shopping was done. Just can’t believe it! I should do this more.

Watercolour: Portugese Scene

Portugese Scene (Part)
Watercolour on Mont Marte 190gsm watercolour paper
29/01/2009

Many artists don’t ever paint under the lighting other than natural day light condition, as this is said to give the best sense for colours. But I think I probably will never be able to comply. I don’t have day time saved for a hobby, so I only have a little spare time to use in the evening under an artificial lighting condition.

I am still trying to get used to these watercolour paints or say maybe the paper or brushes. I found it very difficult to control the quantity of water use, which reminded me that I could have use a drip tube or something.

This is getting a bit of like study of chemistry instead of painting, isn’t it? What do you think?

Travel to Cooma

Well, after the Chinese New Year, I had been to Cooma twice within two days. To be honest with you, I started to feel a bit of sick of it already.

Personally I really like going to Cooma, comparing to other LGAs that we cover in this big region. It’s not far from Queanbeyan, only 1 hour and 15 minutes drive. And it’s a fairly easy drive –the traffic is always low and the road is quite flat as well. However, recently the weather has been too hot. Needless to say, Cooma was even hotter than Queanbeyan. Plus we had to rush, like yesterday afternoon, I almost had no stop from one meeting place then drive to another. By the time I walked into the Library, I was sweating like a pig.

This morning, I had to go to office like one and half hour earlier to get the work car, as the workshop started at 9am. I hate being late but dislike rushing even more. The manager wanted the car back to office by 5pm, as she needs to go out this evening. Seriously this is just getting too hard, I had to leave the workshop earlier in the afternoon to get back to the office.

However, it wasn’t hard to do. The afternoon session was awfully boring. I actually wanted to leave an hour ago. I couldn’t bear hearing people starting to complaine about lacking of communication ,why one hadn’t been invited by another one for a case conference. Oh….just shut it and grow up! I would rather making phone calls to ask being invited than sitting there whinging.

Can’t help starting to wonder, if the trip to other places would be more interesting? But I am sure next time when my husband and I go to Snowy Mountain, I can at least drive half distance to Cooma :-)
